Following the selection of cell components, the initial validation phase using monolayer pouch cells has been successfully completed at AVESTA. These cells were assembled and tested to confirm material compatibility, processing feasibility, and baseline electrochemical performance.
Subsequently, intermediate-scale pouch cells (~500 mAh) have been manufactured and are currently undergoing electrochemical testing. This step allows for further validation of electrode processing, stacking procedures, and cell assembly under more representative conditions.
Building on these results, AVESTA is now progressing towards the fabrication of larger-format electrodes and the development of pouch cells in the 10 Ah class in the coming months. This upscaling effort will enable evaluation of performance at higher electrode loadings and more industry-relevant configurations, supporting the transition towards scalable cell manufacturing within the GIGAGREEN project.
