Sebastian Wennig, Manager Battery Development at ARLANXEO-GIGAGREEN partner involved in the wet and dry processing pathways development-, gave a presentation entitled “ Opportunities and insights of rubbers in battery cells” at the conference SKZ – Kunststoffe für Brennstoffzellen und moderne Batterietechnik (SKZ – Plastics for fuel cells and modern battery technology), hosted in Duisburg (Germany) on November 21 and 22.
The meeting was attended by about 120 visitors from industry and research. On the first day, the focus was set on hydrogen- fuel cells. On the second day, presentations were given on batteries such as redox flow batteries and lithium-ion batteries. ARLANXEO provided valuable insights into opportunities and challenges for the application of rubber in battery cells. In this context, the public funded battery projects ALANO and OekoMatBatt, sponsored by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research, and GIGAGREEN, funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme in which ARLANXEO is engaged were presented.
