Silvia Bodoardo, from POLITO and project coordinator for GIGAGREEN, had the honour of being invited as a distinguished speaker at the Advanced Batteries, Accumulators, and Fuel Cells (ABAF) Conference held in Brno, Czech Republic, from August 27th to 30th, 2023.
During this event, Silvia presented a lecture titled “Battery2030+ Initiative and Smart Functionalities: Sensors and Self-healing Materials for Enhanced Safety in Lithium-Ion Cells.” While the primary focus of her speech revolved around the Battery2030+ initiative, which comprises six projects (BAT4EVER, BIG-MAP, HIDDEN, INSTABAT, SENSIBAT and SPARTACUS) closely aligned with GIGAGREEN’s mission, she also took the opportunity to introduce the innovative GIGAGREEN concept to the audience as well as the objectives, impacts and methodology behind the initiative.
BATTERY 2030+ is a long-term European research initiative with the goal of developing sustainable batteries for the future. It aims to provide European industries with cutting-edge technologies, ensuring a competitive advantage along the entire battery production chain, and supporting Europe’s ambitions for a climate-neutral society as outlined in the European Green Deal.
